Bupa expansion likely to increase demand for dental accountants

Healthcare professionals in need of specialist dental accountants may want to enlist a professional sooner rather than later, as demand for healthcare accounting services is likely to grow in the coming months.

Private healthcare provider Bupa has revealed plans to multiply its presence in the dentistry market by a factor of five, with up to 50 new private practices due to open in a multimillion pound expansion scheme.

Out-of-hours appointments will be a feature of these facilities, which are intended to be based close to where large numbers of people live and work.

Bupa chief executive Stuart Fletcher says: “Customers tell us that they want convenient, high-quality, good-value dental care, and this is something that we are able to deliver.”

The news may mean more earnings opportunities for dentists, with Bupa citing growth expectations of 2.7% in each of the next five years for the private dentistry market in the UK.

However, it is also likely to mean that healthcare accounting providers in the targeted areas could see significantly raised levels of demand, making it a good time to appoint dental accountants now, ahead of the rush.
