Stockport has been named as the fourth-happiest place in Britain – which is enough to have property accountants smiling all the way to the bank.
Rightmove ranked Harrogate top of their list, after surveying nearly 50,000 people in 111 locations nationwide.
But the north-west scored two entries in the top ten, with Stockport in fourth and Preston in eighth – while all of the bottom ten locations were in London.
The news that it’s not so grim up north after all is good for landlords, as it could help to boost demand for homes in Stockport, along with neighbouring regions closer to Manchester city centre.
